Air Conditioning Installation Gold Coast
Split system and ducted installs, sized right for Gold Coast humidity. Installed by a licensed electrician — not a subbie.
Stop sweating through another Gold Coast summer.
An undersized aircon runs constantly, never quite gets there, and racks up power bills doing it. An oversized one short-cycles and never properly dehumidifies. A properly sized split or ducted system gets your home to temperature fast, holds it efficiently, and uses the right amount of power doing it. That’s the difference between a unit someone recommended at a big-box store and a unit sized for your specific home, your specific rooms, and Gold Coast humidity.

PROPER SIZING, NOT GUESSWORK
We size the system to your home, not to a sales target.
A 5kW unit in a sun-drenched Gold Coast living room with raked ceilings is going to run all day and never quite catch up. A 10kW unit in a small bedroom is going to short-cycle, waste power, and not dehumidify properly. I size based on room dimensions, ceiling height, window orientation, insulation, and how many people are usually in the space. Sometimes that means a smaller unit than the retailer recommended. That’s fine – it costs you less, runs more efficiently, and lasts longer.
SEAMLESS SPLIT SYSTEM INSTALLS
I handle the electrical, and organise the gas for you.
Installing a split system safely requires two licensed trades: an electrician for the power circuit, and a refrigeration tech for the gas lines. I handle all the electrical work and switchboard upgrades directly, and I bring in a trusted, fully licensed refrigeration specialist to take care of the pipes. You get the convenience of a single point of contact, one coordinated schedule, and one invoice, without the headache of managing multiple trades yourself.

Common questions about air conditioning installation
How much does air conditioning installation cost on the Gold Coast?
Most standard split system installs land between $1,400 and $2,200 installed, depending on the unit size, the pipe run, and whether it’s a single-storey or double-storey install. Multi-split systems and ducted installs cost more – Ducted starts from around $4,500 and goes up depending on home size. Every job gets a fixed written quote after the on-site check.
Which brand should I install?
Daikin and Mitsubishi are the two most reliable on the Australian market, with the best warranty support and the widest service network. Fujitsu and Panasonic are solid mid-range picks. I’m happy to recommend based on your home, your budget, and what features matter to you – not based on which brand gives me the biggest margin.
How long does the install take?
A standard split system install is 3–4 hours. Multi-split and complex installs can run a full day. Ducted systems take 1–3 days depending on whether the ceiling is accessible. I’ll give you a real timeline when I quote so you can plan around it.
Do you remove the old unit?
Yes – old unit removal and disposal is included in every replacement quote. I take it away, dispose of the refrigerant properly, and leave the install site clean.
Can you install in a unit or apartment?
Body corporate approval is required first – I can help you with the paperwork and what’s typically needed for the application. Some bodies corporate have preferred installers or restrictions on outdoor unit placement. Worth a call before booking the on-site assessment.
Do I need a separate electrician?
No – I do the electrical work as part of the install. The whole job is one person, one schedule, one invoice.
What's the warranty?
12 months on my installation workmanship. Manufacturer warranty on the unit itself depends on the brand and model – Daikin and Mitsubishi typically offer 5 years on parts and labour, Fujitsu and Panasonic similar. I’ll walk you through the specific warranty for the unit you’re getting before I install it.
How do I know what size unit I need?
It’s based on room dimensions, ceiling height, insulation, window orientation, and how much sun the room gets. I size every install on-site rather than going off a rough square-metre rule. An undersized unit runs constantly and never catches up. An oversized one short-cycles and doesn’t dehumidify properly. Both waste power.
Should I get a ducted or split system?
If you’re in a new build or doing a full reno with ceiling access, ducted is the premium option – quiet, invisible, whole-home. If you’re cooling a single room or two, or you can’t access the ceiling, split systems are more practical and significantly cheaper. I’ll talk through your specific home and recommend what actually makes sense.
Do you service air conditioners or just install them?
Yes, I do more than just installs. I offer full hydro cleans, gas checks, fault diagnosing, and leak detection. The only thing I can’t take care of directly is re-gassing – I sub that out to a trusted local partner so you’re still completely covered.
Can you install aircon at the same time as an EV charger?
Yes, and it’s often worth doing together if your switchboard needs an upgrade – saves on a second electrical visit. Bundle pricing available if you book both at once.
